Which is the most expensive place priced here?

Barcelona, by asking price per square metre, with Sitges second and about two and a half per cent below it, on populations differing by roughly fifty to one. The cheapest of the nine is Tarragona, whose own districts nonetheless spread wider than the nine places priced here do, so the cheapest entry is also the one whose single figure says least about the places inside it.

Why does Girona province ask more than Girona municipality?

The reason is not established here, but the fact is: the July 2026 report gives the province of Girona a higher asking price per square metre than the municipality of Girona, by a small margin. It matters because it breaks the assumption that a city always sits above the province around it. That assumption holds on the other seven units read the same day, which is exactly what makes it dangerous: it is reinforced seven times and then fails. Check whether a figure describes the city or the province before using it.

Is Camp de Tarragona in Tarragona or in la Secuita?

In la Secuita. Camp de Tarragona has its address in that municipality, and the word Tarragona in the address is the province rather than the municipality, which is exactly the confusion the address settles. Tarragona has a station of its own, whose arrivals board showed Rodalies, Regional Expres and Media Distancia services. Girona, by contrast, has high-speed services at a station inside its own municipality.

How reliable is a municipal price figure here?

It depends entirely on which place. Salou's six priced districts sit within a fifth of each other, so its municipal figure describes any one of those six reasonably well. Tarragona's run about two and seven tenths from top to bottom, wider than the whole range across these nine places, so its municipal figure describes very little accurately. Barcelona sits between the two at a little over two to one. The municipal number is a starting point and not an answer.

Which of these places have a station inside the municipality?

Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona, Salou and Sitges each have a station standing inside the municipality. Salou's entered service in June 2025 and is named for the town and for the PortAventura resort rather than for a second town, which the opening notice settles by describing access from the resort side and from the Salou side both. Within Sitges, a station at Sitges and a station at Garraf are each recorded, Garraf being one of the districts listed without a published price. No station is recorded in the four Costa Brava entries.

What about the Barcelona metro and tram?

The council lists the metro under nine entries, operated by TMB, with four further train lines run separately by FGC, which is owned by the Catalan government. The two are different operators and should not be treated as one network. Line nine appears as two entries rather than one, so it runs in two separate sections; the reason for that is not established here. On the tram, the two networks in the city are still not joined.

Are these asking prices or sale prices?

Asking prices, in every case, taken from a portal's price index rather than from deeds or completed transactions. The index states as much itself: it reflects the offer price and not the sale price. July 2026 is also the first month published under a revised method for this index, so a comparison with the same month a year earlier crosses that change. The publisher says the revision was applied retroactively where a country's series required it, and does not say whether Spain's was among those restated.
